To my faithful tribe members, I want to thank each and every one of you for your kindness, understanding, and patience with me as I learn to take a step back, reevaluate, and spend some much needed time with my family. You all have been the support and the motivation for me to keep going even when things have been difficult and unclear.
This time away has taught me that my passion is teaching. My passion is relationships. Combining those two things into one beautiful tribe we call HYP has brought such deep joy in my life and I pray to yours as well. Once HYP began moving towards finding a space and becoming an actual business, the passion started fading. While I still enjoyed teaching, my attention was forced to move in a direction I was not incredibly excited about. Although a space of my own is still my desire, I believe it may look different than originally imagined with plenty of partnerships involved thus not falling solely on me and my husbands shoulders. It may take longer than anticipated and I am ok with that. Timing is everything. I had created this pressure on myself to open a space even though doors were closing right and left and it was not happening organically.
At this point in our journey together, I will be focusing on teaching my tribe, and allowing for hyp to organically grow. Meaning I will be taking steps forward with growing our tribe and possibly into a business, however it will not be my primary focus as of now.
Thus, the moment we’ve been waiting for.. maybe not I will be offering a community class Monday evenings at the Grand Rapids Yoga Coop on Burton, 7:30-8:30pm. This is once again a donation based class. Kate Benson is amazing and we have been conversing regarding what a partnership may look like. She has a beautiful sweet space holding up to 12-15 people max. Kate has props, a sound system, and several mats as well as a lovely wood floor giving us a studio feel. My first class will be Monday April 1st! There may be a few days we will have to move back to the church, however they are more than willing to hold our space for when we need it if available. We could not be more thankful for the opportunity Alger Park Church provided for us over the last couple of years and look forward to continuing our strong relationship.
Once again I thank you all so much for your dedication and patience as we move through this time of transition. I cannot wait to see you all Monday April 1st, and as always, trust the process.
